What unprecedented times we are living in 2020; a world that most of us could only have imagined in a Hollywood disaster film... for the arts it continues to be a particularly bleak time with no real prospect of theatres and especially musical theatre and cabaret reopening any time soon and most likely not until well into 2021.
I've continued to work on developing a new musical during lockdown with writer/composer Stephen Redwood and dramaturg/director Christian Durham. We're almost ready to workshop the piece now and are just working out the logistics of that in this current climate.
I've also found a way to rehearse with the Tango Collective, featuring my long-term collaborator William Ludwig on vocals with Bea Lovejoy (violin) and Ben Chappell (cello) celebrating the music of Piazzolla, both online and now via socially-distanced rehearsals and we're looking for creative ways to explore performance opportunities.
Thankfully I've continued to teach piano online and now again tentatively in person and have actively been taking on new students, so please get in touch whether you want to brush up your skills or start from scratch!
